Upper Deck Volunteer Alliance-Mission 8

                                     The Upper Deck Volunteer Alliance

Mission #8 which is very important to us. As you may have heard Upper Deck has recently changed our distribution policy on how we get our products to market. Our goal is to make sure our collectors around the world get product that has not been tampered with by retailers who will not play games with it and will serve us well as ambassadors for the hobby. Our Certified Diamond Dealers and Authorized Internet Retailers do a great job of servicing our customers and we want to promote them as much possible. That’s where you come in!

For this mission we want to you to put on your thinking caps and come up with some more creative ways to help promote the fact that collectors should purchase through our Certified Diamond Dealers and Authorized Internet Retailers. Whether it is a video or sharing the benefits with collectors on message boards, we want to avoid situations where collectors are purchasing from unauthorized sources. For years we have heard horror stories about product being tampered with and collectors being taken advantage of so it is our hope we can eliminate that by working to inform collectors to work through approved dealers. Here are two stories that will give you more information on this new program so you can speak with confidence on it:

We have two side missions this month that VA members can take part in. The first is to help get the word out about our new soccer spokesman, Landon Donovan! Landon has already proved to be a great spokesman by preparing to do a contest on Twitter and Facebook for oversized cards that he will hopefully be signing. We just want people to know we are working with him as we have never done soccer memorabilia before. So we would love your help in getting the word out. Here’s more details on the signing: http://sports.upperdeck.com/news/article.aspx?aid=7769

The next side mission is for a member in the south Florida area. I have a Certified Diamond Dealer who really wants to get set up with a Facebook account for his store in Miami, Florida, but he is not very computer literate. I could really use a VA member to spend some time with him to set it up. Look for a very nice mail day if you can help out here. Just email me directly if you can.

The deadline for these missions is June 1 so if you are going to participate, please email all documentation on what you did to upperdeckmarketing@upperdeck.com before that date. We’ll review entries that week and share details on your next mission shortly thereafter! If you want to collaborate with other members, remember to check out Upper Deck Volunteer Alliance on Facebook. Good luck and thanks for your help as always!

Sincerely,

Chris Carlin
